Shinto Shrine📍 Yamagata, Japan
Dewa Sanzan Shrine
出羽三山神社
Dewa Sanzan Shrine unites the worship of the three sacred mountains of Dewa — Haguro, Gassan, and Yudono — the great center of yamabushi mountain asceticism in northern Japan. On Mount Haguro, a stone stairway of over 2,400 steps climbs through ancient cedars past a five-story pagoda that is a National Treasure.
