Shinto Shrine📍 Niigata, Japan
Yahiko Shrine
彌彦神社
Yahiko Shrine, the ichinomiya of old Echigo Province, sits at the foot of sacred Mount Yahiko in Niigata, wrapped in a deep cedar forest. Dedicated to a deity credited with teaching local people fishing and salt-making, it pairs well with the ropeway up the mountain for sweeping views over the Sea of Japan.
