Futami Okitama Shrine
二見興玉神社
Futami Okitama Shrine on the Ise coast is famed for the Meoto Iwa, the 'wedded rocks' — two sea rocks joined by a sacred straw rope, celebrated as a symbol of marriage. Pilgrims traditionally purified themselves here before visiting Ise Jingu, and frog statues, messengers of the shrine's deity, fill the grounds.
