Izumo Taisha

出雲大社

Izumo Taisha in Shimane Prefecture is among Japan's oldest and most revered shrines, dedicated to Okuninushi, the deity of en-musubi — the binding of relationships and good matches. Its kagura hall is draped with a colossal sacred straw rope, one of the largest shimenawa in Japan.
