Hikawa Shrine
氷川神社
Hikawa Shrine in Omiya, Saitama, is the head shrine of the many Hikawa shrines of the Kanto region and the ichinomiya of old Musashi Province, dedicated to the storm god Susanoo. Its approach, a two-kilometer avenue lined with zelkova trees, is one of the longest shrine approaches in Japan — Omiya, 'great shrine,' takes its name from it.
